Steps For Submitting A Video:

  1. Go to YouTube and login or register for an account.
  2. Upload your video.
  3. Once uploaded, share your video with us by clicking on the Share link and copying the link that is shown in the text box under the heading: Copy and paste this link into an email or instant message.
  4. Send an email with the subject: Video Entry to: videos@saygocollege.com

Who May Enter & Who Is Eligible:

Must be currently enrolled in a public or private school in Arkansas.  You are eligible to enter if you are in grades 9 – 12.  No purchases necessary.  By participating, you agree to these Official Contest Rules and to the decision of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects.

How to play:

There is no purchase necessary to enter or participate in this contest.

How to enter:

To enter the contest you must record a video stating why going to college is important and upload the video to You Tube.  After uploading the video, you must submit an e-mail to the designated e-mail address with your name, address and school.  Only one entry will be accepted from each name and/or e-mail address.  Follow the online steps to submit your entry.

Contest entry period:

The contest entry period begins on September 1, 2009 and continues until February 28, 2010. No entries into the contest will be accepted before or after those dates unless the Arkansas Department of Higher Education in its sole discretion chooses to modify the contest entry period.

Use conditions:

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and and the officers, agents, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgments, losses or expenses of any nature whatsoever (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising directly or indirectly from the contest.

By entering the Contest or submitting the Contest Materials, you represent and warrant to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, the Contest Materials and everything depicted in the Contest Materials, are wholly original and do not infringe upon or otherwise violate any right of any person, firm or entity, including, without limitation, and that nothing in the Contest Materials is defamatory; (2) you have all rights, licenses, permissions and consents necessary to submit the Contest Materials in the Contest in accordance with these Official Rules; and (3) no person other than you, nor any entity, has any right, title or interest in and to any part of the Contest Materials.

Anyone who misrepresents their identity will be disqualified from this contest.

The prize.

Winner will receive a Netbook. Only one prize will be awarded.  The Arkansas Department of Higher Education is not responsible for and will provide no warranties regarding the use of the prize.

Claiming the prize.

In order for prizes to be awarded, the winner may be required to sign an eligibility affidavit and liability release waiver before prize will be awarded. The winner will be presented the stated prize to an address specified upon conclusion the contest within thirty (30) days of the announcement of the winner.

All federal, state, and local taxes, all licensing and title fees, insurance, and all other expenses associated with ownership of the prize will be the responsibility of the winner.

Restrictions.

The Arkansas Department of Higher Education, its representatives, agencies and employees are not responsible for any changes or difficulties in travel or prize delivery. By participating, persons agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the official contest rules. The Arkansas Department of Higher Education reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without any additional or advance notice.  These rules may not be modified, except in writing, and then, only by a representative of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

The Arkansas Department of Higher Education reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit the number of entrants whose submissions are posted on the Website and to remove any submissions that it has posted.  You further agree that the Arkansas Department of Higher Education has the right to modify, edit, adapt, and electronically alter the contest materials, including your submission, as well as reproduce it/them, in whole or in part, without compensation or further notice to entrant, for any purpose, including without limitation, for use on the Website, or otherwise.

General Conditions.

The Arkansas Department of Higher Education is not responsible for and is not liable for: (1) any lost, late, incomplete, invalid, un-intelligible or misdirected submissions, which are void and will be disqualified; (2)  telephone, telecommunications, hardware or third party software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (3) any failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. (4) any condition caused by events beyond the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and the Website’s control that may cause the Contest to be disrupted, corrupted or terminated; (5) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest, including without limitation, the Website;  (6) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by you or any equipment or matter under the Arkansas Department of Higher Education or the Website’s control; or (7) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure, misdirection or delay of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or on the Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants or any other persons computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading or uploading any materials from the contest.

Odds of winning:

The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of entries and/or specific rules regarding individual contests.
